HATTIESBURG — In anticipation for Friday’s state championship game at Mississippi State in Davis Wade Stadium, the Lumberton Panthers traveled to Southern Miss to practice at M.M. Roberts Stadium to get the stadium feel.
This is the second full season the Simmons Blue Devils have played in the 2A classification, and they’ve made it look easy. Simmons has won 24 straight games in those two seasons, claiming the state championship last year.

LUMBERTON -- After 98 points from both teams, more than 850 total yards of offense that included a pair of 200-yard rushers and quarterbacks that tossed two touchdowns apiece, Lumberton’s Class 1A South State championship came down to a defensive stop in overtime.
LUMBERTON – The Panthers have shown absolute dominance in their first two playoffs games, there’s no doubting it. Through the two games, they’ve outscored French Camp and Stringer 114-14.
