Engvall to headline comedic event
In 2016, Laughs 4 Life taught Pine Belt residents that laughter can provide some of the best medicine as Hattiesburg welcomed Frank Caliendo to town and more than $120,000 was raised for cancer research and patient navigation projects locally.
Laughs 4 Life is back with the intent of bringing laughter to the Hub City while raising awareness and funds for cancer research. This year’s event will feature comedic legend Bill Engvall along with opening act Keith Alberstadt.
Laughs 4 Life will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at The Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 19, at www.laughs4life.com and through the Saenger box office. Reserved tickets will be available ranging from $45-$65.
A limited number of VIP Experiences will also be available for $260 featuring pre-show cocktails and dinner along with VIP auction at the nearby Bottling Company, as well as a meet-and-greet with Engvall before the main event.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the International Myeloma Foundation, CURE Childhood Cancer, and the Forrest General Foundation for patient-focused initiatives. All funds will be managed through The Greater PineBelt Community Foundation.
“The community showed us last year an incredible willingness to respond to our cause through comedy and we’re thrilled to welcome someone of Bill Engvall’s stature into Hattiesburg for our second year,” said Kent Oliver, Laughs 4 Life founder and organizer.
To be able to provide such a tangible impact on cancer research through the IMF and CURE Childhood Cancer makes us truly grateful to our sponsors and supporters,”
Engvall is a Grammy nominated, multi-platinum selling recording artist and one of the top comedians in the country. Most recently, he was a contestant on season 17 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and as a fan favorite, he made it to the finals. He previously starred in, and executive produced, the TBS sitcom, “The Bill Engvall Show,” and was part of the enormously successful Blue Collar Comedy concert films, which sold more than 9 million units.
