HATTIESBURG – When Petal beat Oak Grove by 37 points last month to sweep the two-game season series, Panthers’ coach Todd Kimble said it was going to be tough to beat a team three times.
HATTIESBURG – In the beginning of the third quarter, as the Hattiesburg Tigers led the Pearl River Central Blue Devils 42-38, Hattiesburg coach Ernie Watson earned double technicals and was ejected from the contest.
When Todd Kimble took over the Petal program in the spring, he told so-to-be senior Mykah Brown that he was the going to be the primary ball handler that winter. After a few practices, Kimble knew he had something special in Brown, so he started to get the word out to junior college coaches.
PETAL – The Petal Panthers entered Friday night’s game with the Meridian Wildcats red hot, but of all the game film Panthers’ coach Todd Kimble has watched of Meridian, he says he’s never seen what he saw Friday night.
PURVIS – Senior Kennedy Hudson joined rare company earlier this season by eclipsing the 1,000-point club in her Lady Tornadoes career, but her final five points were a little tougher to get than the first 995.
“(Joining the 1,000-point club) showed that the hard work over the past three years had paid off,” Hudson said.
HATTIESBURG – Petal coach Todd Kimble called Friday night the best performance his team has played this season, and it’s easy to see why.
The Petal Panthers blew out the Oak Grove Warriors 73-36 at OGHS, sweeping the season series.
