Brand strategy discussed at forum

The University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Mass Communication and Journalism will host brand strategist Mart Martin of Jackson Spalding, one of Atlanta’s largest and most respected marketing communications agencies from 11 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 21,  at the Polymer Science Building, Room 101 on the Hattiesburg campus. The event is free and open to the public.

 Martin, a 1978 USM advertising and marketing honors alumnus, will lead a discussion on brand strategy titled “Building a Strong Brand Foundation: How Just the Right Words Can Set your Brand Apart.”

 As a brand strategist, Martin helps companies, organizations and brands gain identity clarity and better understand who they are, what they do and why it matters using a process he developed called a JS Excavation®. Through this process, he uncovers information, insights and ideas that inform the creation of mission statements, core values, brand positioning statements, key messages, brand names, taglines and creative concepts.
