McComb native charged with shooting death of woman

The suspect in the shooting death of a 19-year-old Lamar County woman is being held without bond in the Lamar County Jail after his initial appearance Monday.

Tracey Terrale Bullock, 27, of McComb was arrested Sunday after the body of Davisha Davis was found in an apartment in the 100 block of Foxgate Avenue about noon Sunday, according to Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel.

“We received a 911 call saying that they had a shooting victim that was possibly deceased,” he said. “Deputies responded and found a 19-year-old woman deceased in the apartment. A suspect was developed and that’s who this guy is. He was taken into custody and charged with probation violation warrant by the Department of Corrections in McComb, where he’s from.

“We charged him with that and through the investigation, we had enough to charge him with the murder, which we did.”

Rigel said the suspect and the victim were not strangers.

“They knew each other,” he said. “I am not at liberty to say what that relationship was, but they did know each other. (The victim) was found behind closed doors and there was no sign of forced entry.”

Bullock appeared before Lamar County Justice Court Judge Bill Anderson for his bond hearing Monday morning. He was dressed in orange shirt and pants and shackled at his ankles and wrists with a restraint around his waist.

Bullock, who signed his appearance papers with his left hand, was not granted bond for the murder charge.

Rigel said the investigation into the case is continuing.

“We are still in the process to locate the weapon and interview witnesses,” he said. “We are asking anybody who may have seen anything or has any information to call the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department or CrimeStoppers.”
