School District announces 2017-18 Homecoming court


 The Petal School District is gearing up for Homecoming festivities with the announcement of the 2017-18 Homecoming Court and the activities leading up to the big game.

 Homecoming Court for the 2017-18 school year are, on the front row, from left to right, Nate Oswalt, Leah Tharp, Emma Reynolds, Lucas Barnes, Jada Arrington, T.J. Henly; second row: JaQuan Bean, Jaelin Montgomery, Savanna Thompson, Casey Cameron; third row: Susan Worley, Samantha Owen, Nojha Myers, Kenzie Ramsey, Myesha Richards, Andric Knott; and fourth row: Remi Smith, Jacob Rhodes, Christian Sandoval, Landon Draughn, Lauren Cripps, Landon Culpepper.

The Homecoming game will be Friday, Sept. 22 beginning at 7 p.m. The Petal Panthers will take on the Pearl Pirates.

The presentation of the Homecoming court will be at 6:30 p.m. before kickoff. The Homecoming theme for this year’s parade is “Pirates,” in reference to the opponent.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Each class float will keep with the pirate theme, with freshmen decorating like Peter Pan.

Sophomore theme is “Petal will treasure this win.” Juniors will exhibit the theme “Kiss the Pirates goodbye.” The senior float theme is “Round up the Pirates.”
